Dian Ross is a Professional Engineer (PEng) and has recently completed her PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia as a member of the Blockchain@UBC research cluster. Her dissertation focused on developing smart hardware solutions to physical artwork provenance that links with their digital metadata representations on distributed ledgers. She is currently working on a prototype implementation of this research as Project Lead & Engineer at Research Casting International (RCI), with a particular emphasis on incorporating the traceability of 3D scan files of cultural artifacts and natural history specimens.
This panel is focused on the growing role of Universities in teaching essential information about the complex world that is blockchain technology. Topics will include the different ways that institutions approach this daunting task.
