Brian Quintenz serves as the Global Head of Policy for a16z crypto, where he plays a crucial role in connecting the crypto industry with policymakers. Known for his innovative thinking in crypto and DeFi, Brian was one of the early advocates in Washington, recognizing the potential of digital assets. Before joining a16z, he was a commissioner at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), where he led significant initiatives, including the approval of the first U.S. regulated Bitcoin and Ether futures. Brian's career also includes founding Saeculum Capital Management and working as a senior policy aide on Capitol Hill. He holds a B.S. from Duke University and an M.B.A. from Georgetown University.
